If it's a gasolene fuelled engine I would use a synthetic, and keep right on using this type of oil after the initial oil and filter change has been done and the break in period is over.
settlements built newly, repaired or rebuilt , but different generations of people may live there over many hundreds of years.
10-30 winter, 10-40 summer. Any current production oil would be fine, as the engine does not know what brand you have in it. I have seen professional mechanics even mix oil on a newly rebuilt motor with no difficulties. This man never had a come back on a rebuild and was the one who told me the engine does not know the difference. I had and have several 67 cougars and run 10-40 either Valvoline, or Napa brand.
Use whatever oil you plan on using for the life of the engine keeping in mind the climate you live in. A 10W-30 or 5W-30 should be fine in an average climate.

London was about one third damaged thanks to the blitz bombing. London had to rebuild and they had to rebuild their economy. But London was not the only city affected. Many cities and homes had to be rebuilt or newly built. The country had to stay on rationing for ten more years while things were rebuilt and the economy could recover.
