The 24 valve has an electric lift pump. It does not have a primer button.
According to Wikipedia, a variable valve timing is a "process of altering the timing of a valve lift event, and is often used to improve performance, fuel economy or emissions".
I personally think it is easier to slide the bed back,
Cam lift and duration is how wide the cam opens the valve, and how long the valve stays open. The longer the valve is open, the more air\fuel mixture can get into the cylinder. More fuel means more power.
1. Remove seat 2. Turn valve off to the gas tank 3. Take hose off valve and undo the bolt on the back of the fuel tank , where the front of the seat would have been. 4. Lift back of tank up and pull back and the tank will slide off the pins which hold it. And keep the rubber mount with the gas tank so it won't get lost.
The purpse of valve lifters is exactly what it says, to lift the valve.
Both 8 and 16 valve GTIs are fitted with two fuel pumps, a lift-pump which is fitted in the fuel tank and the external fuel pump under the car body. If the lift-pump fails the external pump has an increased workload which can result in its failure. Lift pump failure is usually accompanied by a loss of engine power due to insufficient fuelling.
The vertical travel distance of a intake or exhaust valve is called the lift. Valve timing and lift is critical for a properly running engine.
Never-mind, I found it! After you lift the hood, it's right there at the very front, and exactly in the center of the fuel rail (the fuel rail is silver metal); just stand front and center and look down. The schraeder valve has a black rubber or plastic cap on it and once you twist the cap off it looks very similar to the schraeder valve on a bicycle.
Safety on pull slide back and lift up slide forward
The switch on your vehicle is located on the left side of the luggage compartment under the carpet. Lift the left edge of the carpet.
The exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR) is an emissions control system that recirculates some of the exhaust gas back into the intake in order to re-burn any excess fuel vapor that leaves the engine. It is basically operated by a valve to control circulation. "Valve lift insufficient" means that the valve is not opening enough to circulate exhaust gas as much as the engines computer deems necessary. The vehicle will not pass an emissions test in this condition.
