Fruits such as apples and Pears will rot if exposed to certain fungi. These fungi are relatively weak but can attack damaged or overly ripened fruit. When fruits such as apples ripen, they give off a gas called ethylene. Ethylene gas accelerates the ripening process, which will lead to over ripening. Taking certain precautions to prevent exposure to fungi and over ripening will prevent the rotting of the fruit. Washing the fruit in lemon juice and/or storing the fruit in airtight containers and removing rotting fruit are examples of ways to prevent rotting. it can also rot in warm & dry areas. hope this help u :) :p
Apples get rotten because of exposure to warm air. If you put it in a refrigerator it won't get rotten as fast. But, if you put in a room temperature, it will rot.
Normal air contains various bacteria and fungi. However, such things are already living on fruit when you buy it. So all that needs to happen is for it to be stored in conditions that are favorable to bacteria and/or fungi. Under ideal conditions for the microorganisms ("germs"), they will multiply. The apple provides the food and moisture needed for the microorganisms.
The microorganisms on the apple serve a purpose. Let's suppose an apple falls on the ground and nothing is there to eat it. It just lies there. The main purpose for an apple besides food is to grow new apple trees. Anyway, if no mammals or insects are there to eat it, the microorganisms eat it and cause it to rot. That causes the seeds to be exposed to sunlight, fresh air and water, which might just cause the seeds to sprout. The rest of the rotten apple is somewhat like soil and could be a suitable growing medium until the roots are long enough to go down into the actual ground.
Many of the microorganisms that live on fruit can be beneficial, even though they cause it to go bad. There are common yeasts, lactic acid bacteria (usually found in milk, but can be elsewhere like fruits and vegetables), acetic acid bacteria, and sometimes penicillin mold (found on moldy bread and rotting Oranges). So mashed grapes by themselves with maybe some sugar and warm water can turn into wine due to natural yeasts already living on the skins. That is likely what the white haze on grapes is, an edible fungi. However, apples might not have just yeast on them, but also acetic acid bacteria. So if you try to make wine from apples and are not sure of what you are doing, you could end up making vinegar (acetic acid).
oxidation causes fruits and vegetables to rot, causing them to look brownish red color.
it ain't just oxdidtent and this is coming from an 11yr old^ its acually the bacteria and the fungi causing it to rot its allso the oxdident that's helping it rot buts its allso the bacteria and the fungi grown on the apple eatin the apples cells :P
They are living organisms so die when removed from their sources of water and nutrients, and so then decay. The rotting is by micro-organisms.
An apple becomes rotten when you bite it or cut it or just leave it in the sun, the apple starts to rot and then decompose.
apples rot because of oxydation basicly all the iron containing chemicals react to air when they rot
shaba lamadingdong
because of oxygen
leaving it out in the sun
Lemon juice contains citric acid, a weak acid, but it will have have very little effect on the apple. but it will not make it rot faster it will make it rot slower
Eggs rot before apples.
Yes, apples can rot.
Storage apples will rot faster than apples freshly picked.Summer apples will generally go bad faster than fall apples.
oxidisation
apples rot man. gross.
Apples rot slower than bananas because they are harder. Hard fruits or vegges rot very slow, for example carrots. But compare carrots to cucumbers which rot really fast because they are soft. Same goes for apples and bananas.
Green apples are more tart so they will rot faster. Red and yellow apples are more sweet and will take longer to rot
i think in the middle is where apples rot first
because they are old
Hamburgers
Apple rot faster in hot climate .
