You I am sure know by now- but here goes- (there is a switch on the shifter rod that goes completely throu the tranny)opposite side of the tranny (idiot side) by the exhaust that goes bad because of the exhaust heat. Cost around $100. The exhaust must be dropped from headers. I have a 2000 Kia Sportage and when the hold button is flashing, the transmission is locked in low, by the gear shift is a button that says, hold, some how it got pushed, you might have a button on the dash that says, power and economy, I read in the manuel that it should be in economy for every day driving, if you are towing something, you can use power, and the hold, it lets the transmission, pull harder, and doesn't shift as fast.
It switches the transmission between "Economy" and "Sport" mode. Economy will provide smoother shifts and is fine for everyday driving. Sport mode tells the transmission to let the engine rev higher, and shift quicker, to get a sportier feel...
what is the difference between barter economy and monetary economy ?

The button allows you to select between two different transmission shift patterns. The "economy" shift pattern allows the transmission to shift a little sooner, which tends to keep the engine RPMS down a little and saves some fuel. The "performance" shift pattern shifts a little later and results in a little higher engine RPMs at the cost of a little of the fuel economy. In some vehicles, the "performance" pattern also disables the transmission lockup circuit. Lockup helps considerably with economy, since it bypasses the torque converter.
