First was the Ionian Revolt 499-493 BCE, put down by the Persians.
Then followed the punitive expedition by Persia against Eretria and Athens in 490 BCE for their interference in the Ionian Revolt.
Then followed the invasion of mainland Greece by Persian king Xerxes in 480-479 BCE to try to bring the Greek cities there within control of the Empire.
After this invasion was defeated, there were battles around the Aegean Sea, in Egypt and the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, including Eurymedon 466 BCE and Cyprus 450 BCE.
A peace was concluded in 449 BCE.
It makes interesting reading and historical study.
