When the engine is cool, take the radiator cap off and make sure the radiator is completely full of coolant. Also check the operation of the cooling fans.
AnswerMost likely the fan relay. http://www.neons.org/neontsb/TSB/recall/rc769.htmanother possibility is your fans are unplugged from the connector at the bottom of the engine
check you water (coolant) level, make sure thermostat is working, radiator leaks, sensor problem
you could be low on antifreeze, could be a plugged radiator, or the radiator could be dirty. I had the same problem with my Dodge Ram and it was a plugged radiator
Check that the coolant fans are still working, then check out the water pump.
Bad thermostat, loose water pump impeller. Does it have a electric fan? Bad head gasket?
With the engine OFF & cold the fan should not turn more then a 1/4 turn or less. If it spins more then a turn that could be part of the overheating problem. I would check your water pump & belt.
i have sort of the same problem on my dodge 2000 the temperature gauge recently went out and i replaced the sensor but the gauge always reads 0 your not alone with this one...
