The wiper system consists of the motor on the passenger side of the firewall, a pivot/passenger wiper drive in the center and the driver side wiper drive. There are stamped steel links that connect the motor to the center pivot/passenger side wiper drive and the center pivot to the driver side wiper drive, respectively. They have greased nylon bushings on each end which snap very tightly over ball studs on the pivots/drives. If your windshield got icy or very muddy, it's likely the bushing on either end of the driver side link popped off. The whole system is located in the vent area, under the black plastic vent trims between the windshield and hood. Open the hood, flip the wiper arm trims up (the round parts at the base of the arms) and remove the nuts that hold the arms on (after marking where the wipers go on the windshield with tape). Pry the arms up with a screwdriver at their bases and remove. The trims should just pry up also. Best fix is to replace the link, not just snap it back on. The bushings are not available by themselves, but the links are very inexpensive and the problem is common enough (the bushings are sacrificed to save the motor) that most dealers should have the links in stock. Good luck.
u might have leaking gas line or your charcoal canister is clogged or needs replacing.
I also own a 2000 Nissan Xterra; and I've come accross the same problem......I solved this problem by removing the heat shield from the engine header. It was becoming rusty and loose. Hope this helps.
needle might be cracked
its cheaper if you do it yourself it isn't very hard might take four hours at the most
The Xterra S and SE are two different trim combinations of the Nissan Xterra. Apart from the name, the difference is that one might have more equipment than the other e.g Cruise Control, Air Conditioning and there for, the one with more equipment will cost more.
you might try switching the key pads from the right side to the left side
I had same problem on my 2000 Nissan Xterra. You probably need to replace the power window switch assembly. I did the same on my car and it works fine now. Go to http://catalog.nissanpartswholesale.com and look for part number O3060-177168 ($89.60). I'm not sure how far it goes back but there was a recall/service bulletin on my '01 Xterra for the same problem. They replaced all 4 of the assemblies at no charge. Might be worth a call to the local dealership.
The drivers for the mouse might be incompatible with the Windows 98 operating system.
They might be broken, check with a mechanic, its illegal to drive when they are broken.
If its the 3.3L with supercharger, it has a timing belt. Manual says to change at 105k. But did mine at 82k, had the money and time, so might as well. Did the water pump as well since i was in the neighborhood.
The car might need a tuneup . also the problem might be related to fuel injectors that are not working properly.
If the CD rom drive has stopped working properly or maybe there's some type of incompatibility issues then you might want to consider installing the newer drivers. But if the CD rom has stopped working because of a hardware issue, then installing new drivers may not help in that case. If everything appears to be working normally with your CD rom drive though, than I'd say to just leave the drivers as it as is for the time being.
