A lawful order is an order given by a police officer or any other LEO (Law Enforcement Officer), which is often backed by a statute and/or ordinance in a given locality. It should be noted that in the majority of cases such charges do not go beyond a misdemeanor level, but they are simply issued as part of a compliance policy of the government.

The officer must have reasonable suspicion to believe you have, or will, committed a crime. Meaning, if you fit the description of someone who they are looking for, you can be stopped, searched and detained. If they do not have reasonable suspicion to stop and search you, do NOT resist the officers, even if your rights are being violated. Arguing at the scene is NOT the place to make your voice heard. File a report or get a lawyer later.

When a police officer serves a warrant does he bring it with him?

In most cases an officer who is serving a Search Warrantwill have it in his possession. However in special cases such as a warrant obtained over the radio or telephone the search warrant may not be immediately available. Arrest Warrants are most often 'unplanned.' An officer stops a person or a vehicle and is told over the radio that an there is an arrest warrant for a person. Since a warrant is a command from a court to arrest a person, the officer will arrest with only the work of the poilce dispatcher.
