- The one thing you should do is tell your husband he is not going to have this affair and live with you as well and if he is not going to try to save the marriage then he can pack his bags and move out. You could file for a separation which will give you both time to think things over and come to the conclusion as to whether or not you both stay together and hopefully the latter will apply, but don't let him off the hook easily and persist upon seeing a Marriage Counselor to learn tools to deal with your marriage. Don't whine, cry or hang off your husband begging him to stay and remain calm and mysterious (so he doesn't know what your next move is) because this would be unnerving to him not knowing why you are not more upset. Let him know that you can have a life without him and will file for that separation, but be sure if there are children involved that are minors that you get child support. Realize in yourself your own strengths and look confident and neverlook beaten down or needy to him. You are in control of your own life so start taking control back by not putting up with his affair. It is true that not many married men stay with the mistress he is having the affair with so she'll lose out too and the big loser will be your husband.
