The viscosity of the oil (10-30 for instance) will depend on the climate the car is driven in. You will have to look that up yourself. Use an oil that will not break down under higher temperatures and has good thermal stability because air cooled engines run hot. Mobil 5000 or synthetic, Castrol GTX types are highly recommended. Don't use "cheap" brands. Don't forget to set your valves every oil change.

You should buy a new VW Beetle (Mexican 1977-1998) but you should not buy a VW New Beetle. They are the most difficult cars to work on, but they are very cute!!
