The German U boats helped in World War 1 because the U boats could sail around the sea and water.
The German U-boats helped a lot
They could sail around the water that is good
They could go underwater, so they were able to sink many ships without being detected until the utilization of airplanes as escorts by the Allies
During the first World War, German U-boats helped Germany overcome, to some extent, the naval superiority of the British war fleet. These submarines struck terror in the hearts of sailors and commercial shipping passengers in the Northern Atlantic Ocean. Ironically, the "success" of a German submarine in sinking the passenger ship, the Lusitania, helped fuel the entry later on of the USA into the war.
U-boats sank many ships carrying cargoes, troops and supplies to Britain. This led to convoys, so ships could give each other protection, but this proved to be difficult to say the least. Ultimately it led to the Royal Canadian Navy building up a huge and very effective Anti-Submarine force.
they killed most of the allied ships in all of the wars.
Effective enough to sink a big steel ship. They just didn't have enough subs to sink all the new ships being built.
