King Henry VIII was a Protestant Christian- mainly because the Catholic church would not grant him a divorce he wanted from one of his wives.
Henry was a Catholic and was a member of the oldest Catholic Church in Europe, the Church in England! As far as I know he didn't abandon the Church and indeed it was the proud boast of one of his Bishops, Bonner? that Henry accepted 8 Catholic Councils!
Further more, Henry and the Catholics in England held to the old style Catholicism of the first thousand years, where power was held from the apostles to the college of bishops through the Councils. It is a nonsense to say that Henry was a protestant, if anything he was a supporter of the position held by the Orthodox!
The Church of England which is basically Catholicism but you can divorce people. In the catholic church back then they couldn't divorce people so he be-headed his wives.
he made all of Europe change to protestent religion until he died. one of his daughters changed the religion back to catholic. soon it became a holy war in Europe.
Henry the 8th started the religion called Anglicanism
It depends how you look at it. Henry was a Catholic until the Pope refused to grant Henry a divorce. So Henry set up his own church, the Church of England, with Henry being in charge of it.
Henry VIII wanted to break with Rome, but not the Catholic religion. The Church in England, at least during Henry's reign, remained Catholic in theology and liturgy. After the break and until Henry's death, the Protestant religion was still illegal in England.
no because Henry wanted to get adivorce but the pope wouldn't let him and the catholic religion wouldn't let him so he made up his own church
he was protestant as although his father, Henry viii was Catholic he had been brought up as a catholic without Henry knowing!
Henry VIII did not set up the navy, it was set up under Charles II.
Henry VIII was Roman Catholic up until he founded the English Church and became Anglican.
France
Because Henry VIII didnt like thomas more and decided to close thy chuch of the catholics
Henry the VIII had many characteristics that made up his reputation, but I would say that he would have to be considered a man of many wives.
