That will take a Weaver #12 base for both front and rear or a Weaver #2 sidemount. Weaver notes that the rifle will need to be drilled and tapped. See http://www.weaver-mounts.com/mountcharts/default.aspx
This would be very difficult as the Springfield Model 15 .22 caliber rifle is already an antique. Try the Burris 3 - 9 x 40 scope and hopefully there will be enough room for the holes to mount.
i would assume so you would most likely just need and scope mount (its like a rail) which would replace you rear sight then a scope will slide onto that
The gun is not really designed to hold a scope. The barrel has no way of holding a scope rail. You would have to drill holes in the barrel to mount one. a pistol scope would also be required and it would out cost the price of the gun many times over. a regular rifle scope would not work. So I suggest that this not be attempted. But it's your pistol.
No scope with an SVD mount is designed for the use on an AK mount. The mounting mechanism is slightly different and so is the scope height.
The half way point between Mount Vernon Texas and Springfield Missouri would be Little Rock Arkansas. This would be in the middle.
Your J.C.Higgins is a sears name that was made by Savage. It is the model 6,or 87.I would use these madel numbers to cross reference the correct scope base and rings for your firearm.I would look at the old redfield mounnts as they made these for a lot of older model firearms.Good luck in your search.
Hi, I happen to be refinishing the stock on this same rifle. My Mother had it in the house as long as I can remember. She said that my Father had bought it for her the year after they were married. That was 1943. This of course would make it a least 61 years. I have noticed that there are 2 tapped holes on the left side behind the chamber. A possible scope mount? Does anyone know if there was a side mount availble for this rifle. . ESVAmine also has two holes on the left side which i have always asumed were for a scope, but the rifles was given to my father from a friend long ago so i have no ideaMine has a Wards model 93m scope and bolt on mount--kind of an old school long & skinny 4 power tube.HeadlineI too have a Wards scope on mine. The mount reads WARDS 93M 2129A and the scope is a Western Field 4X15 60-1203. I have one that used to be my grandfather's, I believe he said it was made in 1938 or '39. It may be a Springfield model 87, but I get confused easily.
Would depend on the gun and size scope tube. The tube would be either 1" or 30mm. Could be side mount top mount etc...More info needed
If the mount can be put on the firearm, yes.
Your serial number indicates that your Springfield model 1873 trap door model rifle was made in the year 1885.I would check to see if you have the next model, which was the model 1884.
Yes
This would be a Savage model 38A or 58A or Savage-Springfield 18.41.
