The bite of a black mamba is generally considered to be fatal 100 of the time. Death occurs within 20 minutes as a result of the paralysis of the lungs and diaphragm. The only potential remedy is to be treated with proper broad spectrum anti-venom serum within the first few minutes. The braod spectrum anti-venom serum is required as not all black mamba species produce identical venom.
You should avoid it completely. They are very poisonous. Don't try and kill it unless you absolutely have to.

Depends. The general rule of thumb is that a pet snake should be given 48 hours to digest their meal(s). If they are handled before that time is up, the snake may regurgitate the food. This is natural: in the wild, if a snake is attacked by a predator soon after eating a meal, they puke up the food in order to be able to escape quickly. If the snake is an adult, handled regularly, very docile, and used to the handler, it should be OK to handle it within 48 hours. This should never be attempted with a baby snake, as they are usually not used to being handled and will most likely vomit on the handler, which is not fun to clean up, trust me :)! I have a pet snake that allows me to handle him an hour after feeding without incident. So, it all depends on how tame and docile the snake is.
