Even if she is just a casual acquaintance or an ex-friend, think how you would feel if somebody did that to you.If you ask, and she won't commit to an answer, say " Look , if you don't say yes or no, I'm going to do it, so speak up now, or deal with it later. " That will relieve you from any obligation or recriminations down the road.
