probably 3/8"
What size Allen socket is needed to remove bolt from caliper on 2004 ford escape
it is an Allen wrench not a TORX socket
I believe that is a 3/8" allen.
Jack up front end, remove wheels. Use Allen wrench or Allen socket to remove 2 pins holding caliper on . Remove caliper by sliding it off the rotor. Remove pads from caliper. Press piston back into caliper with c clamp. Replace pads, reinstall caliper and pins.
I have a 2003 Escape and it took a 7 mm socket.
There is no need for a special tool to remove the caliper. It is removed like most other GM calipers. Retract the piston in the caliper and remove the Allen bolts that mount the unit to the A frame, then raise it up.additionThere is a special socket available at any parts store which is alot user friendly than fighting with sticky caliper pins with an Allen wrench. it's a 5 dollar socket that is basically an Allen wrench head jammed into a socket.
3/8ths
7 mm. You can buy this.
A 3/8" Allen socket or wrench will work.
7MM metric hex. Sears has them in the socket hex for $11. Get the long socket hex and cut it to size.
use an Allen wrench not a socket or open or box wrench.
Try a TORX T-40 or 45 Many second generation Expeditions (2003-2006) use a 9mm to remove the front caliper and a 7mm for the rear.
