How can I change the spark plugs in a 2001 jetta?

I am going to base this off the v6 model, which I have. First, the tools that I used. Socket set with spark plug socket total 9" extenstion for socket set channel locks screwdriver with a star head that fits the screws Step 1: Pull the handle to the spark plug up with the channel locks. Step 2: Pull the spark plug handle completely out and label where it came from (this step can be skipped if you have basic common sense). Step 3: Remove the plastic panel over the engine block. Step 4: Attach the 9" extenstion to the spark plug socket and then to the socket wrench. Remove the spark plugs entirely. They should stay in the spark plug socket. Step 5: Remove old spark plug from socket and insert new one. Insert new spark plug and screw in. Proceed to the others. Step 6: Replace the cover. Step 7: Replace the spark plug handles back in their originial positions and lay the cables back in the slots.

If the standard socket does not fit, ( 5/8 ) then try and find another size to fit, even metric. This is the best to do, other wise, you will have to remove the head.
