No. The 1994 and later Mazda B-series pickups are re-badged Ford Rangers. The 2.5 liter engine in them is an improved 2.3 liter engine that's been in Fords for many years. The Mazda B2200 uses a Mazda-designed engine that's fully different. Best bet is to go with a Mazda B2600i engine, or sell the pickup and buy something else. The i in B2600i stands for fuel injection, which increases power and gas mileage and reduces the amount of emission control equipment needed, simplifying the engine compartment.
its the best 2.2L diesel engine rather than the RF version. this is japan made while the RF is not.
A 350 CID w/2bbl carb will get you the best mileage and power.
Just going on the information you've provided in the question, it's doubtful that the engine light is the cause of the deceleration. It's more likely that the light is correctly indicating the presence of whatever malfunction in the engine is causing the deceleration, and the engine malfunction is what you need to identify. Your local Mazda dealer or friendly mechanic are the best choices.

See your dealer, At worst, it sounds like you could have a bad apex seal. At best, it may need fuel injector service. Have Mazda run an engine compression/vacuum check to know for sure about the engine seals.
