the caliper should be held on with two bolts that come through from the back. most use a 1/2 inch (13mm is the same) wrench or socket.
If yours has disc brakes, remove the caliper mounting bolts and move the caliper out the way. Remove the hub nut assembly and withdraw the disc. Separate the disc from its carrier and hammer out the studs from the front.
You will need a tool to wind back the caliper piston or a steering wheel puller will do the job.All the standard stuff choc wheels jack up front remove wheels .Remove the two bolts top and bottom at the back of the caliper remove the caliper remove the outer brake pad use the tool to wind back the piston all the way remove the inner pad and place new pads in replace caliper and bolts pump the brake pedal until hard and replace wheels .
a 12 mm socket 2 bolts on the back of the caliper
just remove tire, remove caliper top screw turn the caliper back and remove pads. to install new pads you need to compress caliper cylinder back ,I usually use a big plier to press the cylinder back, you has to open the brake liquid reservoir to release pressure, after that you can put new pads .
Remove wheel Remove caliper mounting bolts Slide caliper off rotor Rotor should slide off hub
brake hose is bad
Can a woman that weighs 375 pounds break the front seat of a Jeep Cherokee sport vehical?
100 foot pounds on my 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport.
Lift the car, remove the tire, remove the brake shoe/caliper and remove the old brake pad. Next put in the new brake pads, put the brake shoe/caliper in its place, put the tire back on the car and lower the car.
Lift up your cart using jack stands for safety. Remove the wheel and take the brake hose off of the caliper body. Remove the two pins that secure the caliper to the bracket and pull of your rotor.
Jack vehicle up and support Remove tire\ Re-Install 2 lug nuts to hold rotor in place Loosen 2 caliper mounting bolts (probably torx maybe size 47-50) Remove 1 caliper mounting bolt and slide caliper off rotor being careful not to stress flexible hose Remove outer brake pad Use a large "C" Clamp and inner brake pad to to compress caliper piston into caliper body Remove old inner brake pad and install new inner and outer pads Re-install caliper and tighten mounting bolts Pump brake pedal to set pads against rotor Re-Install tire and torque lugs nuts
Jack it up (make sure to use jack stands), remove tire. I assume you are talking about front rotors as the back is a drum. There are 2 12mm bolts on the back side of the caliper that need to be removed then the caliper should be easily removed from the rotor. At this point the rotor will just slide off the hub.
