The Hippopotamus is the black marketeer of the river, they can be found scattered in all the bars in Africa, wearing sunglasses and carrying big bags. They sneak up on you and their opening lines vary from 'Alright my son' to 'Can I interest you in' followed by ' two for a tenner, buy four get one free' or 'Just fell off the back of a ship'.
The Hippopotamus rarely gets arrested, I mean would you arrest one, I know I wouldn't. And what ever you do, do not ever call them Hippos, not unless you have a suicide wish.
The youngsters have invented a new game, sneaking up on boats, and trying to shout boo in the ear of the nearest human, this has led to many varying disagreements, and a few deaths, not of the youngster, but of humans.
Lately, Hippopotamus have started becoming time-share sellers, this is proving to be very lucrative for them, as most people are afraid to say no.
Hippos spend the entire day in the water. The pigment ( or lack of) in the their skin would sun burn rapidly. Therefore, staying in the water protects them from the sun. They move onto land once the sun goes down to feed in surrounding areas, sometimes traveling several miles to do so. In the early morning twilight, they return to the body of water they call home.
