The manual recommended ATF II, Mercon/Dexron. Since then a much improve ATF III has been added to the market. It's okay to use ATF III but never use less than ATF II. For the age of your car and possibly have over 75kmi. I would suggest also using ATF III high mileage fluid. Read the back of the bottle that would indicate if the fluid is compatible to your car engine.
automatic trans fluid. Mercon works fine.
Fill it at the same place you check the fluid level.
check in the glove box....there should be an access panel there
1.25 Gallons = 5 quarts
DEXTRON AUTO TRANS FLUID
My Trooper did the same thing and I replaced the fluid and filter and added a separate trans fluid cooler and that fixed the problem.
Trans Dipstick
In the tube that holds trans dipstick.
Through the trans dipstick tube.
its under the windshield washer fluid tank, its not that hard to see, it sits on it's side
Will a 1996 4l60e 4x4 trans fit in pace of a 1995 4l60e 4x4 trans
You have transmission fluid lines that go to the radiator/front for cooling you must have a leak there
