I used Royal Purple ATF. Much better shifting afterwards. And meets Honda specs. Amsoil would also work.
Genuine Honda Trans-axle fluid from dealer...
Add fluid by using a funnel or similar device, by way of the auto trans fluid dipstick tube.
no you can not, and don't put any fluid other than original Honda fluid in the trans. Check your owners manual and make sure you get the correct fluid
civic dx auto trans should not be flushed.Just drain pan and clean magnetic plug and add 3.2 litres of genuine Honda atf.Drain again in about 6 month so you capture the fluid in torque conv.
The answer is no because the civic was redesigned in 2001 and also the trans also changes too.
NO! the Si only comes in stick (manual) transmission, and as of 2006, it is a six speed transmission. i had a honda civic si with a auto trans my civic was a 99 so it might not pretain to this but just thoght i would say that there is such thing as a honda civic si auto trans
No it will not. 2001 and up Civics use entirely different motors.
If it is an auto it is most likely your torque converter changing the fluid will help slightly but not a whole lot. If it is manual then it could be your clutch or your trans fluid trying changing fluid and replace with Honda MTF if this does not help have your clutch checked out to see if it is almost worn out You can also adjust the clutch on a manual civic to get a few hundred more miles out of it. (Depending on how you drive)
1988-1991 Honda civic dx,si,standard civic, crx dx,hf,si any Honda auto trans 1988-1991 will fit it
If it does, look for trans lines going to radiator.
Take the trans pan off and there it is.
Yes, it is a permanent filter inside the transmission.
