NV3550 manual transmission: 1.98L, 4.2 pints. 42RLE automatic transmission: 3.8L, 8 pints for a service fill, 8.3L, 17.6 pints if it has been overhauled. The NV3550 uses Mopar Manual Transmission Lubricant. You can also use Royal Purple Syncromax fluid, this is what I filled mine with and it shifts worlds better than what it used to. The 42RLE uses ATF+4 fluid, nothing else. If you use anything else, it will burn up.
The transmission fluid does not come out of the transmission dip stick. The transmission fluid is added through the dip stick area though. The exact specification on how to change transmission fluid will depend upon the exact vehicles and the owner's manual should be reviewed.
yes
A good 50 precent of vehicles are manual transmission. They are cheaper, however the cost come back since you have to replace the clutch faster.
