Jimmy Carter's life is still going, but he would tell you he has had a good life.
He served in the navy rather briefly, found a beautiful wife who was always faithful to him, suffered the death of his father and had to take over the family peanut business. He had a wonderful mother and and a somewhat troublesome brother. He was elected governor of his home state, Georgia, ran an amazing primary campaign to get the presidential nomination and won the election. His presidential term was not so satisfying and he lost his reelection bid. But he has a deep religious faith and has turned to humanitarian projects in recent years.
