After traveling to America Thomas Paine landed a job as Managing Editor of the Philadelphia Magazine. He Published articles there under the Pseudonyms "Atlanticus and Amicus". His most popular work the pamphlet, "Common Sense", was first published anonymously. Later editions carried the pseudonym "an Englishman". Later editions and works carried his real name.
