They had slavery, but William Penn (The Founder of the colony) promoted good treatment for slaves they could marry each other etc.

Colonial Pennsylvania was a free place for slaves. If a slave lived there for six months or longer continuously, they would gain their freedom and could live freely for the rest of their lives
