As a US territory the Philippines fought against Japan in World War 2. After the war, the Philippines became independent but remained a US ally and provided bases for the US Military throughout the conflict in Vietnam. Also, a great many smaller conflicts have been fought in and over the Philippines for centuries.
A US possession. Whatever the US did, involved the Philippines.
During the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905) when some Russian warships escaped from the 27 May 1905 battle of Tsushima, some of them headed for US bases stationed in the Philippines. Since the US was neutral during that war, those Russian warships were disarmed and interned, pending the war's outcome.
As their own nation, not a protectorite of the US...they sent some troops to Vietnam during the war.
