The Boston Massacre was a tussle between citizens and British troops that got out of hand and was then used as a Propaganda ploy to incite further opposition to the governing and taxing policy of the British government.

The Boston Tea Party was a protest against subsidized prices of tea from the British East India Company being sold in the colonies. The Government reaction to it was closure of the Port of Boston, among other things, and this, too became part of the agitation against governing policies.

The "shot heard 'round the world" is a fanciful term for the first shot fired during the face-off between British Troops and the Minutemen on Lexington Green. No one knows who fired it, but it began the hostilities that became the American Revolution.

The phrase "shot heard 'round the world" has also been applied to the skirmish at North Bridge in Concord, Massachusetts, later that day and to other, unrelated gun shots, including the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, leading to the Frist World War.

Who was the former slave that was killed in the Boston Massacre?

Crispus Attucks was the only slave killed in the Boston Massacre. He was young and was thought to be a slave that was "just passing through" the town. I have heard that he moght have been a runaway but that might be true. He is considered a hero to African Americans since he was the first to die in the war. (although the real war had not yet begun)Yes, but only if is they did things such as running away. Sometimes more cruel owners would kill those if there caught not working or slacking off, possibly stealing to.

What is Boston know for?

Boston has a long and important history, as one of the sites where the Revolutionary War was fought (you may have heard of the "Boston Massacre" and the "Boston Tea Party" for example). Boston also has the oldest public library in the United States. Boston today is known for its research hospitals, its many universities, and its devotion to its baseball team, the Boston Red Sox.

Why the Boston massacre happened?

The Boston Massacre happened because a lot of colonists began to throw rocks and snow balls at the Redcoats. One of the soldiers called for backup and more soldiers came. The leader of the group shouted "Hold your fire!" one of the men only heard "Fire!" thus making him think that he should shoot his gun. The other men thought they should shoot to because he shot his gun..... it was a misunderstanding.

Who started Boston massacre?

Nobody knows for sure. The Americans were throwing things at the British soldiers - they were throwing ice, rocks, and insults at them. One of the British soldiers thought he heard the command, "Fire," and he fired his gun into the crowd. All the soldiers started to get scared and shot into the crowd.
