He was the King of Great Britain. He was hated by colonists for his "taxes" but actually he taxed them about a quarter less than he taxed his own people back home in Britain. Americans still argues that it was unfair that they were being taxed, so King George, trying to be a good king, lowered the taxes as low as he could go. Colonists still complained that they couldn't get their way. Without plans, the King made acts... This infuriated colonists, though he wasnt trying to. The participated in the Boston Tea party, destroying Private Property. What the colonists did that night (Sons of Libert) was uncalled for. If they really wanted participation in government they could have voiced their opinions through ina number of different ways, instead of ruining products that the King was trying to make more available for them. The colonists were being plain, UNGRATEFUL!
