Need a better definition on "wing" tail lights. In the late 40's through late 50's, the Cadillac had tail lights at the top back of the rear quarter panels. 1956 was the last of the tail lights at the very top of the quarter panel. 1950 through 56 tail lights were more like bubbles at the top of the tail fin. In 57 and 58, while models varied on tail light placement, the tail light lenses were more "aerodynamically" shaped with the car. In 1959, the tail light lenses took on a bullet shape, and while near the top of the quarter panel, they were not at the top of it. Throughout the 60's, while the tail lights remained in the "wing" they were not at the top of it. This remained the trend until about 1964, when the tail lights took up the entire up and down length of the quarter panel end. In some Caddys, this is still the trend. However, in Eldorados, Sevilles, and other models of Cadillac, the tail lights could be up and down, across the back, or even square (for example the 1976 through 1979 Seville).
from inside thtrunk locate the wing nute that hold the assembly undo them and pull off the assembly then it is a simple matter to take the bulb out
Open the trunk. Loosen the black thumb latch wing nuts that hold the tail light assembly in place. pull the tail light assembly out. You should be able to acces the tail light bulbs to replace them.
Like any other plane's tail wing, a horizantal fin and a vertical one on it
Yes, for example the tail shape or the wing shape.
Gray Wing and Turtle Tail will not have kits together as they are both sterile due to their past experiences with Twolegs. They will form a close bond but will not have offspring.
you can take the tail light out by unscrewing the wing nuts in the trunk, when all wing nuts are off pull the tail light out then take the light bulbs out to replace the tail light.
Ok I am going to answer my own question. I originally asked because the left tail light wouldn't come off. If this is the case with you as well, it could be that it is caught on the frame inside. Mine was and i used a small flat head screw driver and inserted it above the lens and between the frame and pushed the lens down and it came out. There are alot of plastic wing nuts in the trunk by the tail lights. Those do not all hold the tail light in. The 4 small ones closest to the middle by the latch will take the license plate assembly off. The ones you need to take off for the tail light assembly are the larger wing nuts. There are four for every light assembly. The light will just pop right out once the wing nuts are taken off. I was able to do all of this successfully last night and replaced 3 burnt out bulbs.
inside of hatch on back wall separate carpet back a lil then theres black wing nuts on the tail lights remove them all and replace install is opp of teardown

You have to remove the entire tail light assembly. 1) Remove the interior trim panels behind the tail light you need to access. 2) You will then see some large plastic 'wing nuts'. Remove these - total of 4 I believe. There is one in ther very corner. 3) When all the wing nuts have been removed you can remove the tail light assembly by either pulling on the light form the outside or by pushing on the bolts sticking through the back. Once you have the tail light assembly removed you then twist each bulb housing/seat to remove it from the tail light assembly. You can now remove the bulb. Reverse the steps to reinstall.
