Do you mean in "founding" Georgia? I'm sure they already knew where it was so they didn't have to find it.
King George was persuaded to sponsor the founding of Georgia by James Oglethorpe who tried to find a solution for Britain's many ex-prisoners (mostly from debtor's prisons) unable to support themselves, by letting them build a new future for themselves as colonists in Georgia. Another major reason was that this colony could act as a buffer between the other US colonies and the Spanish territories further south.
