The Allies expected Europe and Germany to dwell in peace and to allow all the nations to have self rule that was democratic. They also expected Fascism and Dictatorships to be ended forever. The US wanted Imperialism ended too. Japan had to give up their warrior ways and learn to live in peace and not be imperialists anymore. They were taught to be democratic and to have the Emperor has a symbolic religious person for them instead of their pseudo ruler. The military was no longer allowed to rule. The Allies would like to have eradicated Communism and they spent four decades in that effort. They wanted nations not to be aggressors, terrorists and never to carry out the brutal heinous acts the Germans and Japanese had down. Sadly, it did happen again in Vietnam. Terrorism continues to be a problem and hundreds of nations would love to end the terrorism and genocide that goes on today.
