Answer 1

The Navigation acts were passed by the British parliament. These acts were a series of twenty-nine laws passed to control colonial trade and shipping. All goods sent to America had to be shipped to England first before so the ships that were transporting the goods had to pay a heavy tax for everything before they could finish their trip. Everything traded from the thirteen colonies had to be transported in English ships, the captain had to be English, and three- fourths of the crew had to be English. Some goods, like tobacco, cotton wool, sugar, indigo, lumber, and rice had to go to England first before they could be sold anywhere else. The only people who had the right to trade with the other colonies had to be British citizens.

Answer 2

The Navigation Acts occurred in 1660 and 1663 between the British and the Colonies. England limited the colonies to only being able to trade with the British. All foreign trade was banned, but this made the colonies begin to smuggle from other countries.

The Navigational Acts were a set of laws(or a law) that restricted colonial America from trading goods freely with other countries. They were only allowed British shipd to trade in other countries, even if the foreign ship cost less. Molasses and tobacco were only allowed to be traded with England. Of course, colonists were angry and started to trade illegally with other nations, helping to eventually shape America today. Anonymous, 13

In 1651, Great Britain passed its first Navigation Act. These were revised as time past. The act is considered the first of a long series of measures by which the British Empire was built. The main objective of the act provided that goods imported into England and its colonies must be brought in by English ships, or in ships belonging to the exporting country. These acts fit into the Mercantile system becoming commonplace with major European colonial powers. Revisions to the acts required the use continued use of English ships and seamen that were English, Scotch or colonial. As an example, British sugar planters had to ship raw sugar to the "home country" to be refined then sold in European markets. For the British American colonies, it was illegal to manufacture ironware and many other products. The colonists were expected to buy these products from England.
