Presidents Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley, and Kennedy were assassinated while in office. None were assassinated -IN- the White House.
Theodore Roosevelt was a former US President and a candidate for that office when he was shot and wounded.
Both were vice-presidents who became president when the elected president died in office.
No because they have too many things in common
The US Vice Presidents who attained the presidency due to the death of their President include: John Tyler - He became the 10th US President when William Henry Harrison died in 1841. Millard Fillmore - He became the 13th US President when Zachary Taylor died in 1850. Andrew Johnson - He became the 17th US President when Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in 1865. # Theodore Roosevelt (Youngest President 42 years old when he took office after President McKinley was assassinated) # John F. Kennedy (Youngest Elected President, took office when he was 43) # Bill Clinton (46 years old) Barack Obama was 47 years old when he became President.
Theodore Roosevelt became president when William McKinley was assassinated. Chester Arthur became president when James Garfield was assassinated. Lyndon B. Johnson became president when JFK was assassinated. Andrew Johnson became president when Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. But I assume you are referring to John Tyler, whose nickname was "Accidental President" or "His Accidency". He became president just 30 days after President William Henry Harrison died. Harrison's death was attributed to his giving the longest inaugural speech in history at the time, and did so without wearing a hat, causing him to fall ill and die just 30 days later. Four: Lincoln, Garfield, McKinnley, Kennedy
2001
He was assassinated. Lincoln was assassinated less than 2 months after taking office for his second term. When Lincoln was assassinated, his Vice President, Andrew Johnson became President. In May of 1868, Andrew Johnson was impeached; he was the first US President to be impeached. The Senate did not confirm the impeachment, and therefore he was not removed from office. Johnson left the Presidency in disgrace.
Theodore Roosevelt became the 26th president when William McKinley was assassinated in 1901.
No former US president was ever assassinated. Theodore Roosevelt escaped an assassination attempt while he was running for a third term in 1912. I can not think of any non-US former presidents who were assassinated.
