Test for fuel pump pressure at the back for the throttle body at the schrader valve. Your fuel pump may be going out. This is the #1 problem with these cars.
Blown fuse?
i think better to change the engine oil for that one.for better results consult your nearest mechanic.
Bring to ashop that has an ABS scanner to determine the problem
This could be ecm (electronic control module) problem.
I believe it has something to do with the "lockdown" where the transmission does not shift down causing the engine to stall....On the driver's side of the engine toward the front bottom there is a BLUE connection that if you disconnect the override should not occur.........have an 85 cutlass ciera have been driving it that way over a decade and solved the same problem for me..........try it......Cutlass~Cutee
if it is a standard transmission, check the clutch switch on the pedal, may fix the problem. it did on my accord. i own a calais w/o cruise. hope you find the problem.
it will be either the o2 sensor or the idle air control module. i had the same problem in 2 different cieras and each one had this problem.
if it smells like antifreeze inside the cockpit then your problem is the heatercore, since you can't see it.
What can cause the RPM on a car to jump while driving is a problem with the transmission. It could be a problem with the gears in the transmission itself.
I'd call a locksmith. They will be able to tell you the exact problem and how to fix it.
Check the coolant temp sensor, or just replace it if you have the money to burn.
There is a problem with the emissions system. Check for a loose gas cap. If that is not the problem, seek out the services of a professional.
