Many mechanical and electrical items could be the cause. Even a flat, or almost flat, tire can cause a problem. Check the steering fluid as well.
An engine which cranks but will not start is not receiving enough fuel or has no spark. A clogged fuel filter or bad spark plugs often cause this problem.
If the engine cranks and fails to start them problem is most likely cracked distributor cap. When you do get it running, dim lights and lightly spray water on the cap. This should tell you if that is the problem.
You have only two this that can cause this and you need to first check to see if there is any freon in the system and if so then check the a/c electrical system..........
No, overcharging cellphone will not cause an electrical short circuit.
It could be any of a number of problems, including but not limited to electrical problems with the start and the final run of the car.
Was this car running before? It sounds like maybe the crankshaft is broken or maybe a rod came loose and is causing a bind when it cranks.
You need to be more specific about your problem. If it fails to crank, it could be it is not installed properly. Shims may be needed to make sure it engages the fly wheel gears properly. If it cranks, but does not start, then there are many electrical problems that could cause this. This begs the question, did it run OK before replacing the starter?
Any vehicle in which the engine spins (cranks) but won't fire has an electrical problem with the ignition system (but not the starter) or a fuel problem. There are a number of good answers to the underlying cause of a "no start" on different vehicles in another part of WikiAnswers. And you got links....
I would say a badcam or crank sensor. if not scan system for codes
