Have you checked the codes?? auto zone will do it for free. It might be the governor pressure switch in your tranny. Always check for codes. best of luck, tony
AnswerIt could be a number of things.. the Transmission Fluid could be low or dirty. Try replacing that with ATF+4. If that doesn't work, do a tune-up with new spark plugs, wires, distributor, rotor and ignition coil. Try changing the fuel filter. If it's still hesitating, then it may be the fuel pump. Hesitationhesitation or stumble during acceleration is caused by 1 of 4 things, incorrect ignition timing, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure meaning probably restriction in the fuel line or clogged fuel filter. As for the knocking check your universal joints, while pressing the brake move the transmission selector from park to drive and from drive to reverse, if there is a hesitation or a clunk or both before engaging the universals are going bad, go underneath and try to turn the drive shaft if there is play then that is it.Hesitation,

No, but if you change the bracket that the tranny bolts to it will its going to cost about 1500 for everything you got to change the flywheel and possible the motor mounts because the tranny is bigger from 94 than 88 but if you got money go for best bet is to go to summit and buy a aftermarket tranny for about 950 ok i hope i helped
