Blend door motor.
I have replaced a blower motor in a 1995 Windstar which had similar problems. No heat could indicate that the blower motor is not functioning correctly which could be due to a broken fan. This could cause the "flopping" noise as when the blower motor is running, the plastic fan is being spun or knocked around inside the housing but not pushing any air through the vents. The blower motor should be located under the hood in the upper left side of the engine compartment. It is held in with 3 or 4 screws and is about 5 - 6 inches in diameter. Also, there is usually a single wire connected to the motor housing with a plastic clip and a rubber hose about 1 inch in diameter. As with any inspection, removal and or replacement of any electrical component in an automobile, disconnect the (+) positive battery cable to prevent shock. You may also consult your local auto parts store or purchase a Haynes manual for your vehicle which will have photos and step by step instructions.
i have heard that noise and I believe it is coming from the body frame connection and i also heard that u can get a kit to eliminate the noise. Ed
Depending on the nature of the noise, when it occurs and more description, it'll be very hard to offer ideas on a cause. One thing that does cause 'noise', is a thumping / clicking when changing the heater temperature setting. See "Related Questions" below for more about that particular problem.

In my experience, any noise coming from the wheel bearings is an indicator of wear - and ultimately a repair job in my future. See "Related Questions" below for questions/procedures on Windstar front wheel bearing replacement.
Depending where the noise was coming from, but this question is most likely to be answered in this way. If you switched a valve off and the noise was coming before the valve in the pipes, that would indicate a burst pipe.

It can be a defective CVC-joint or other things. Have it inspected by a qualified mechanic and they will find the cause of the popping noise.
