Just a guess but your problem may be with the transmission filter. I recently changed mine on a 2001 Cavalier (64,900 miles) and found it runs much cooler and better. The transmission filter and gasket cost about $16.00 plus Transmission Fluid (4 1/2 quarts on my 3 speed automatic). If you have a socket set you can do this yourself and save about $50 from what a reasonably priced shop will charge.
There is not one. The transmission pan must be removed to change transmission fluid and filter.
Remove the transmission pan.
low tranny fluid. transmission may need rebuild.
i need to know how to change an automatic transmission mount on a 2000 chevrolet
To change the shift linkage in an 1998 automatic Chevy Cavalier the shift linkage needs to be removed from the transmission and pulled from the cabin. The job requires removing the floor console to access the cable. After doing the so the cable can be snaked from inside the cabin, the install is the reverse of the removal.
3.5 to 4 quarts with a filter change on the 4 speed auto.
A parts car like yours with an automatic transmission.

The transmission fluid capacity, in your 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, is 12 quarts. It is recommended to change the transmission fluid every 30,000 miles.
In an automatic transmission this usually means the trany is low on fluid or the trany has internal problems.
