Measuring oil pressure at the top of the block such as is common on many V8 Chevys will give large shifts in pressure readings when going from cold to hot and from idle to cruising speed. But 10 psi is still too low even hot and at idle. Could be there is too much clearance in the bearings, or maybe when the block was prepared for rebuilding the small soft plug that goes in the vertical passage at the back of the block was removed for cleaning and not replaced. The engine might be running rough when the oil pressure gets too low to pump up the hydraulic lifters. Actually gm says 10psi per 1000rpm is accpetable. My guess would be the oil pump.I have seen aftermarket high pressure/high volume oil pumps do this lots.No concerns
The fuel pressure regulator maintains a constant predetermined fuel pressure regardless of engine RPMs.
Check fuel pump pressure Should be 15-23 with engine idling 23-31 key on engine off
With key on engine off 23-31 psiWith engine idling 13-20 psi
The oil thins when hot and the oil pump is driven off the engine so, the lower the engine rpm's, the slower the pump turns.
A car that is stopped with the engine running.
check oil pressure with a gauge possible bad pump or engine is tired
The most common reason for the oil pressure light to come on when your vehicle is idling, is low oil. Check your engine oil and make sure the oil is up to the full mark on the dipstick.
Oil pressure should be at least 10 psi when the vehicle is idling. At highway speeds, it should be about 21 to 23 psi.
For a 1995 Ford Explorer , 4.0 liter , EFI , V6 engine : With engine idling ( 30 PSI ) Key On / Engine Off ( 39 to 40 PSI )
There is no ideal pressure. Of course the oil pressure will be higher when the engine is cold. After it is running and at full operating temp, the pressure should read at least 10 lbs while idling. The pressure will be directly related to how many miles are on the engine and the amount of wear. A new engine will have around 40 lbs when hot and running at 2,000 rpms, and around 30 lbs at idle.
If it helps the fuel pressure at the fuel rail should be 3.3-3.7 bar with the engine idling. The holding pressure after 20-30 minutes should be, system pressure - 0.5 bar.
because of ignition coil faulty.due to mountings, abnormal fuel pressure.
