If the noise sounds like a Power Steering whine it could be caused by the A/C compressor clutch bearing or the belt idler pulley.

Check the brakes. You might have worn disk brake pads and if your vehicle has worn brake sensors, it can make that kind of sound.

I had that problem with mine and it was the bearings going out in the alternater. So try replaceing the alt.
