You have a warped rotor. Brake pads need replacing and the rotors turned or replaced.
Sounds like air in the brake lines or power steering fluid in the brake system instead of brake fluid.
It is under the dash/steering wheel next to the brake pedal, make sure you disconnect the battery before replacing.
Why do brake pads squeak after replacing pads?
No steering power or brake power ford explorer 1999?
It could, if the damage has caused a loose component or the alignment to be way off.if the sterring wheel is shaking while applying the brakes then most likey the brake roters need machining or replacing
Your power steering will fail because brake fluid is poor lubricant.
For several years of the Chevy astro van had a power brake and power steering system that was linked together. Instead of a brake booster, the power steering pump provides power to the power brake system. Often, if the brake pedal would become hard to push, it is a power steering pump problem. Change the power steering pump and the power steering fluid and your problem may disappear.
No. Brake fluid is not a petroleum product. Power steering fluid is. Petroleum product will swell and ruin rubber part's brake system is full of rubber parts. You will destroy your brake system using power steering fluid.
If you're talking about the brake light staying on, it may be either the small plastic button that pushes on the brake light switch on the brake pedal, or the brake light switch itself. If you're talking about taillights only, it may possibly be the light switch on the steering column that has gone bad and needs replacing.
AnswerMost likely the problem is in the turn signal switch on the steering column.Fold up a small piece of heavy paper or card board, and stick it in the four way flasher(front or back), on top of the steering column( red color button). This worked for me.
the switch on brake pedal is faulty and needs replacing
