I had that same problem and I had to replace my dash cluster.
There isn't a speedometer cable. There is a speedometer sensor, where it is located I am still trying to find out. On the tranny or in the speedometer or somewhere else?
Blazing a trail means making it through the wilderness. If someone is a "trailblazer," they are making a path somewhere -- maybe leading people in a new direction in business.
chances are they are in the gas tank, but it may be right in front of or laying against it somewhere.
Sounds like a short in the wires somewhere. you will need a diagram & have to trace them.
The trailblazer is known for this to happen most often it occurs somewhere after the 80-100k mile mark. If you've noticed before the dashboard gets hot pretty fast and easily this causes some damage to the wiring in the dash. A lot of the dashboard starts to go haywire. I own one that the RPMs dont work, the speedometer doesn't work, the Oil Pressure doesn't work, and the fuel as well. Unfortunately the only way to fix it is to replace the entire dash which is pretty expensive.
cable the ometer in its self nose not work
excessive water usage (as in it's always low) is usually caused by a crack somewhere in the coolant galleries. you can take it to a shop and get a pressure check on the cooling system.
Go and buy a instrument panel gauge cluster. I got one on eBay on a short auction for $75. Used they are about $100. New somewhere between $200-$300. It is a very hard to find part. If you get it used as I did, it has to be reprogrammed to the miles per hour or close to the miles per hour on your truck but once you do, it should work just fine.
Better pay somewhere else, and stress. Definitely Stress.
You probably have an air leak somewhere in the system.
What exactly seems to be the problem? Do you have a digital speedometer or analog speedometer? the problem most encountered with a bad speedo is the gear in the transmission tail cone housing. make sure it isn't stripped the other problem could be the speedo itself. If it's analog then somewhere in there it is stripped out. If it's a logic type then usually the pulse board is gone.
try checking the fuse first , then if that doesn't work there may be a short somewhere
