Hey Carol===Evidentally something was not put together right. GoodluckJoe
I paid $1600. CDN for a rebuilt transmission on a 1990 xr7.
i have no electric to pump
No. It just means the motor was rebuilt at however many miles. The rest of the truck hasn't been rebuilt, though. That includes the transmission, rear ends, etc.
AnswerThe Transmission, in my 1992 S-10 Blazer Four-wheel drive, with the 4.3 V-6, came out of a 1996 S-10 Blazer w/FWD. I had no problems with the installation, other than having to jack the body up, to get the Engine and Transmission out. it will fit. but the computers have two different style processors so after you put it in you will find that it doesnt work
If you are driving down the road and the tachometer RPMs are intermittently bouncing, then more than likely your transmission is slipping or having shift errors. Of course, this is if you have your foot steady on the gas pedal. If you are having transmission problems, your O/D light (if equipped) on your shift column may be flashing. I had this happen on my 1999 navigator and it ended up needing the transmission rebuilt. It was rebuilt in September 2009 and cost around $1900... I got a good deal. Most transmission shops charge $2500 around here in Tennessee... If you do need your transmission rebuilt and you decide to do it, make sure you find someone trustworthy.
The transmission is a sealed system, if you're having to add fluid it means you have a leak. the 1999 CLs are notorious for transmission problems, get it to a transmission place asap. I had to have my transmission rebuilt, hopefully yours just needs a minor repair.
Tranny is shot Have it rebuilt or a new one i found rust in mine.
Their are very few physical advantages of having a rebuilt engine. The only actual advantage of having a rebuilt engine is that it is much cheaper than a new engine.
having a problem with my rebuilt trans, i put it in everything right but its leaking from the or around sensor on the panssager side
I don't think so but any vehicle 20+ years old will start having problems here and there. See sources and related links below for a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer light bulb lamp part number list.
The torque convertor acts as an automatic clutch for the transmission. If you are replacing the transmission, I would recommend replacing the convertor too, especially if the trans fluid is burnt or contaminated. If you have a manual transmission, run, there is no torque convertor :)
82 Blazer 4x4 TransmissionI had an 85 quite a while ago and I'm thinking the transfer case bolted straight to the transmission? If the transmission is out of a 4WD I don't think there is a problem. Cannot give you an absolute guarantee. 82 Blazer 4x4 TransmissionI had an 85 quite a while ago and I'm thinking the transfer case bolted straight to the transmission?
