Push rods bend when there is no more clearance between valves and that no. 3 piston. There could be a foreign object sitting on top of that piston...or those valves set too tight.
a broken valve spring could be the cause, or a lifter. Start by checking the compression for the number 8 cylinder, then remove the valve cover to inspect the rockers and lifters.
Doesn't matter on a roller lifter. Flat tappets must remain with the cam lobe they were broken in on.
aticking nosie is usally rocker needing adjustment or a lifter
Yes? What about it? It is an industrial/marine engine. Never used for automotive purposes.
Take a pushrod and push down on the plunger in the lifter. A hydraulic lifter is spring loaded.
Chevy 4 cylinder engines and Chevy marine 4 cyl engines typically found in Bayliners, etc.
yes
You can't fix a bad lifter, replace the bad lifter with a new one.
If a lifter is stuck in the lifter bore and won't move, it has probably ruined the cam. The procedure would be to install a new cam and lifters.
set er on and find out lol
Could be a valve problem or a broken ring. Probably have to take it apart to find out.
You will have to take the 2001 Chevy Malibu to a mechanic to have stripped and broken plugs removed. It needs a special tool to get the broken ones out.
