Poor fuel economy in a car can be caused not only by sluggish oxygen sensors but also by a defective coolant sensor, bad engine thermostat, and worn spark plugs. Some other causes can include dirty fuel injectors and the wrong oil viscosity.
try changing your oxygen sensor I have changed the oxygen sensor and it did not help. Do you have any other ideas? Could it be the carb?
Try the oxygen sensor and the coolant temperature sensor.
Oxygen Sensor. Or the Knock Sensor. Or you could check the plugs for faults.
No it will not.
check the vacuum hose which goes to the MAP sensor, $4 part.
oxygen sensor
air filter, oxygen sensor, sticking injector, plugs, EGR valve... What does the computer say?
It screws into the exhaust and plugs into the electrical harness. It screws into the exhaust and plugs into the electrical harness.
It could be a bad oxygen sensor or the wiring to the oxygen sensor. This is not the only possibility. Could be a computer issue. not sure what else. If the spark plugs and O2 sensor are all black, then the injector may have failed.
I believe that it is your oxygen sensor.
possibble bad ignition coil
The next step should be to check the oxygen sensor. If this isn't the issue then check the coil or coil pack to ensure proper firing.
