they have a limited slip clutch pack in the Diff. when it is serviced a friction modifyer must be used. this helps with the nois some but on hard pavement when you make sharp turns a light clicking sound can be normal. when on pavement if it is not peeling out but hooks up and takes off great that is normal the clutchs will make it like a pos. track rear end where both tires are supplying equal power. when stuck in sand and only one tire is spinning and you continue to spin only one tire you could burn up the clutch pack.
A wet cat lol
You might need to flush your power steering fluid system. What causes this whining or sizzling noise is the hydraulic bar getting stuck which a driver doesn't feels in its rack. or if your car recently visited a ditch or hot a side walk really hard, these factors can effect your steering rack and steering Coulomb.
Maybe a stone stuck in the tire tread.
By the fact that you are saying that the motor makes noise, I am assum ing this is a power seat belt, like on an Escort? If that is the case, then the fact that the motor is noisy indicates that the plastic gear tape, that runs the legth of the track is probably stipped, and so the shoulder belt is stuck wherever it is, and it's not going anywhere. You fix it, by replacing the assembly.
A clicking noise in the engine of a 91 Ranger could indicate a problem with the valves. A valve lifter in the engine may be worn or stuck.
This buzzing noise is likely a faulty wheel bearing. The bearings are moving around randomly and need to be replaced.
The expedition door lock relay could be stuck causing the grinding noise. Check to insure that the lock relay is working properly.
Try turning the steering wheel back and forth while turning the key.
sounds like it is going to quit soon better replace it before you get stuck somewhere then it will cost you for towing too
Just had the same problem! 1) stone stuck in brack pad or also in my case brack pad needs adjusting it is touching the outer cover behind the silver plate. Had same type of noise and conditions. :0)
The are a few reasons why a vehicle could make a clanking noise upon cranking. The oil level could be low. A hydraulic lifter could be stuck causing the engine to flood. The spark plug wires could be crossed. It could even been a weak battery.
Take it out and get a new one!!!!!
