If it's like my '96 and is on the stalk sticking out from the left side of the steering column, you have to remove the upper and lower covers from around the steering column using a Torx tool from below. (NOTE: a T handle Torx works better than a right angled one) Then, it's pretty straightforward. Two screws come out of the switch assembly, the switch comes out after you unplug the electrical connectors and the new one goes in pretty much the opposite. Take note of how the wiring harness runs and try to get it back in the same place. This will save you headaches trying to get the new switch installed. I found my switch at Auto Zone for about $60.
what i did for a ground on my girlfriends 96 sunfire was in the trunk there are hooks that hold the cargo net and the carpet down. unscrew it and just place the ground cable in between the bolt and where it will be screwed into that works fine.
Only the earliest Sunfires had a transaxle dipstick. On the newer models, there is a threaded plug on the side of the transaxle. To check the fluid, remove the plug and stick your finger in the hole. If it comes out wet, the fluid level is OK. If it comes out dry, add fluid until your finger comes out wet. Crude, but effective. Another option is, for the next oil change, take the car to a full service oil change place which also checks all the fluids . Make sure they check the transaxle.

they change because we move around in circles and the moon comes with us and the sun stays in the same place
