Shepard's second flight was aboard Apollo 14. He and his crewmates, Stuart Roosa and Edgar Mitchell were launched toward the moon on January 31, 1971. On February 5, Shepard piloted the lunar module "Antares" to the most accurate landing of all the Apollo moon landings. 33 hours after landing, Shepard and Mitchell left the lunar surface. They landed in the Pacific Ocean on February 9, 1971.
