Behind the glove box
The ECM
ithe ECM is located under the hood just above the battery, cant miss it
a 1990 corvette that wont start. I have replaced the fuel pump, map sensor, ecm , checked for spark and fuel to the fuel rail The Oil pressure switch can go bad and will not let the car start at all because the ECM has to see at least 3 psi while cranking or running to let car run. Next to distributor.
Behind driver seat in with battery , have to remove battery first to take it out. Check 20 amp fuse next to battery first it is for the ECM (computer).
The ecm on a 1988 Corvette is mounted under the dash on the passenger side, I just had to get one for mine and it took the junk yard employees 2 hours to find and remove it. You will need to talk to a Corvette mechanic or look through a manual with exploded views to find out how to get it out withour distroying the trim. Are you sure EMC Might be ECM Electronic control modual most likely.
== == The ECM is under the dash, on the passenger side of the car. You have to undo the two wiring harnesses in the middle of the passenger area, under the dash. The next thing you see is the bottom of the ECM. It has two rectangular plugs going into it on the bottom.
Try changing or checking the oil pressure switch next to distributor if it goes bad the engine will not fire or start. Motor (ECM) has to see at least 3 psi of oil pressure to start. And will also shut down if less than 3 psi.
Yes
you did not list year but it is hidden on the 82 corvette , located behind the computer(ECM) mounting plate next to battery , on the back side of black plate along with the ESC. Small rounded box about 2 inches by 3 inches. May have to pull carpet back behind seat to undo screw there to help remove mounting plate for ECM. can not see it with out removing this big plate. Crazy - remove battery then ECM then plate then relay. Before that double check your connections for the distibutor 4 wire plug and the oil pressure sensor plug , these signals have to be there to energize the relay for fuel pump.
